A-SERIES

A = FULL ALUULA AIRFRAME

At the pinnacle of the technological advancements and opportunities that our work alongside ALUULA Composites has provided sits our A-Series kite range, which all benefit from the ultra-light and ultra-strong ALUULA airframe, and are now lauded as the most cutting-edge kites in the sport.

When we first revealed our work with ALUULA to the kitesurfing world, there was reasonable and valid debate as to whether the hype would really match up to the material’s potential, and to the performance levels that we were promising. Happily, as has since been proven and documented, the hype has gone beyond everyone’s expectations.

Lighter, stronger, with higher performance levels and a bigger wind range than standard kites, the A-Series have set the new standard in high-end kiteboarding… a standard that continues to develop as we explore the endless possibilities that ALUULA presents us.

A-SERIES FEATURES

ALUULA ATTRIBUTES

Tensile Strength (Warp / Weft)

Tensile strength is a measurement of the force required to pull something such as rope, wire, or a structural beam to the point where it breaks.

The lengthwise or longitudinal warp yarns are held stationary in tension on a frame or loom while the transverse weft (sometimes woof) is drawn through and inserted over-and-under the warp.

Moduls (N/mm2)

Modulus of elasticity measures a material’s resistance to being deformed elastically (not permanently) when stress is applied.

Tear Strength (Lbs of force)

Tear resistance (or tear strength) is a measure of how well a material can withstand the effects of tearing.

LEADING EDGE TECHNOLOGY

FULL ALUULA LE

Made entirely of ALUULA Vaepor™ (82 gsm) composite, the A-Series airframe is the lightest, strongest and most responsive on the market.

With six times the tensile strength of a Dacron leading edge, the all-ALUULA leading edge stiffens and lightens the entire kite, providing the most refined handling and performance in all conditions.

The leading edge can be tuned to higher inflation pressures than is possible with Dacron to allow further stiffness to the airframe.

RIDGE LOCK SEAM

This innovative seam technology is designed specifically for ALUULA. The ridge moves the stress of the stitch holes and threads to the anti compression ridge. Strategically located to add additional stability to the leading edge, the Ridge Seam helps stabilize the kites arc in gusty and high wind conditions.

HEX LOCK SEAM

Another unique seam from the ALUULA design team. Hex Lock resists torque and pressures far beyond existing seam techniques, and it has been designed specifically for ALUULA composite materials. Hex Lock is used exclusively on leading edge and strut segment seams.

STRUT TECHNOLOGY

ALUULA PERCISION CURVED STRUTS

The precision curved are composed entirely out of the ultra light, ultra strong, UV stable and virtually unrippable ALUULA composite material; The A-Series’ struts offer more rigidity and control, while also significantly reducing their weight and therefore increasing performance capability.

QUAD LOCK SEAMS

Used specifically on the shaping seams of struts, Quad Lock delivers more strength than a standard strut seam construct, and was another innovation specifically tailored for the ALUULA airframe kites.

These unique and innovative seams allow for the airframe to be inflated to a higher PSI than traditional kites.

BRIDLE SYSTEM

Our highly refined, compact two pulley bridle has been refined again! Designed for arc stability and no snagging, while at the same time providing direct drive steering and a massive sheeting range. The bridle is compatible with all bars that feature a single front line flag out emergency de-power system.

Industry standard larks head on LE bridle to front flying line knot or bead. Back lines larks head to bead or knot on kite’s back line leader. Bridle is designed to accept bars fitted with lines at equal length when set at pull power.

LOW-DRAG BRIDLE LINE

All of the the A-Series kites use a combination of Liros DC Pro 301 and 401 lines. These new lines are not only lighter than previous generations, they are also stronger and offer less drag.

ULTRA LIGHT PULLEYS

Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest impact. That is true of our new Ultra Light Pulley.

Made from incredibly durable and lightweight anodized aluminum, this simple and reliable design provides a high load capacity with low friction, low maintenance, and a deep, secure lashing groove.

BRIDLE KNOT FLOATS

The main bridle knot now features a lightweight cover which ensures there are no tangles and keeps the bridle floating, while supporting the weight of the pulley.

REINFORCED CANOPY

ALUULA REINFORCED

The canopy's reinforcements, overlays and anti-flutter strips now benefit from ALUULA’s remarkable strength to weight ratio and it's superior abrasion resistance compared to Dacron and other much heavier abrasion solutions.

TEIJIN D2 RIPSTOP CANOPY

Designed specifically for the kiteboarding market, Teijin’s Technoforce D2 ripstop has high tear resistance, low stretch, and is incredibly lightweight.

Each strand of yarn is individually coated before being woven together. A second surface coating is then applied to the material, providing long term endurance.

Teijin D2 is the benchmark in quality with proven superiority in durability and dynamics.

INFLATION SYSTEM

SPEED INFLATION SYSTEM

Our ultra clean inflation system is designed for reliable operation of single point inflation. Valves are strategically located to stay clear of the canopy, negating the need for valve covers or other chafing solutions.

Other refinements include the omission of zippers on the leading edge. These zippers are used only for kite bladder changing, and are one of the primary causes of failure on kite leading edges. Bladders are simply installed though the large valve hole.

HIGH CAPACITY VALVE

Every aspect of our Speed Inflation System has been fine tuned over the years to be low profile, reduce drag, and above all to ensure that you spend less time on the beach and more time on the water.

SUPER-LITE Kite BAG

The materials and finishings have been selected specifically to deliver the lowest weight possible while maintaining durability and carrying out comfort. This bag comes loaded with features, including quick drain and dry mesh panels and ultra-light shoulder straps. When the bag's not in use, it flips inside-out to become a small waist pack.

To make things even easier the Super-Lite Kite Bag is colour coded via strategically placed colour coded size labels. Aligned to match wind strength colours used by leading web-based wind forecast websites, with a quick glance you’ll know if you’re grabbing a 17m or 9.5m.

WHY ALUULA?

Because a lighter kite means a better ride.

ALUULA, an ultra-light, ultra-strong and stable composite material, not only improves light wind performance but also increases handling, stability and flying performance in all wind conditions. This makes an ALUULA kite more efficient than a standard kite, performing better in all respects, including speed through the air, turning speed and light wind stability.

Why do you need the lightest kites on the market?

  • Better for freeride, freestyle and surf riders. With more response in all departments and in all conditions, you’ll enjoy faster snaps, loftier hang-time, better drift and the confidence to ride even when conditions are marginal.

  • Better for boosting and hang-time. With a kite that’s half the weight and has a stronger airframe, you have a confidence-inspiring boosting machine. You can also generate power on both your down and upstroke… Something that was unheard of in kite performance until now.

  • Better wind range. Because the kite is 3-struts, and yet as light as some no-strut kites, the same kite will deliver rock-solid performance and stability at the top end of the wind range, as well as in extreme light wind.

  • Better relaunch. Simply pumping one back line will cause the airframe’s stiffer flex to work the kite out onto one wing tip, and into the air. The A-Series kites are easier to reverse launch in light winds too.

  • Better for learning. You’ll find your level improves immediately with an A-Series kite. Flying the kite is easier during all manoeuvres as, due to the lighter weight, an ALUULA kite resists both flying too far forward, and back stalling.

  • Better for travel. When two A-Series kites weigh the same as one traditional kite, it’s a no-brainer… More kites on your trips means more time in the water.
