Wow, why would they do this???
I have a 2010 king with the comfy pads. Rode my pals 2013 and all it has is the thin deck pad.
The ride was clearly LESS comfortable than my 2010….whats up with that????

Less comfortable but easier to gybe . . Me I like the symmetrical straps and no pads so I can use   the Mutant /directional option.
Come to think of it may be no pad and straps at all and go skim
Pads will fit on if that rocks your boat

I can throw gybes all day on my surfboard…Looks like they don’t sell the pads or the handle anymore… at least they are nowhere to be seen on the website….In fact, the OR straps I just ordered for my 2010 don’t include the plastic uprights compatible with the foot pads…It aint a surfboard….it needs a handle folks….this is rather ridiculous….

.  Don’t think I have ever had a handle or pads on a King but Speak to your local OR Dealer . Pads and handles are available if you require.

I would speculate that a majority of riders are using the mako as a TT…
But I do wonder about the dumb decision to not include a handle at the very least….

We have actually just started shipping Mako 165s with handles. In the past, we found more riders of the King were using it as a mutant and were not using the handle. As the board has continued to grow in popularity and the percentage of folks using it as a twin tip has increased, so (not surprisingly) has the demand for a handle just like you refer to here.

NYKiter, you must have received one of the last 165s that shipped without a handle. Obviously that does not help too much at the moment though! Please write us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and we can try to sort that out for you.
