Hi,
Even though that I have read all the reviews, I still don’t know which size to buy. I’m just about 70 kg. I need a board mainly for wave riding. I also have a North X-ride 133x33 for “normal” freeride.
I’m considering the 140 x 40 or the 150 x 40.
Which size Mako should I buy ?

I hope you can help

I’d vote 140x40.

I’m slightly less puddings than you and I use the 130. I’d vote for the 140 or maybe you could consider the 130 or new 135 size?

I am also considering the 140 x 40 or the 150 x 40.

As far as I can read in some of the the reviews, a lot of riders think the 150 x 40 is better for waves than the 140 x 40.
Any views ?

I was going to say the 140 but having the ability to setup the 150 as a mutant…hmmmm tough call.

I believe the mutant setup is reserved only for the 150s and 165s.

140 can be mutant as well

Advice on the size, considering the x-ride also, take the mako 150 if you look for waves

Or skip the x and take the 140…

Thanks for all the feedback ......... I think I will go for the 150 x 40 as the board only will
be used as a waveboard.

Hi Mokka, bit late posting but I have both the 140 and 150 and I weight exactly 70kg. I have been riding these for a few years and in my opinion would recommend the 150 for waves over the 140. I find it goes out over the white water much more easily, floats better when slowing down to hunt for waves and is less likely to nose dive when catching the wave. It also does a better job of smoothing out the chop out back! All my opinion of course and looks like you may already have one of these.

I also prefer then 150 overall for general free ride but then I’m getting on a bit and it helps my tired legs! I have tried it with the surf fin. Extra solid surfy carve but harder to spin a 180 to turn and catch the wave.

Hope that helps confirm your decision.

Mike
