Hey Crew,
The King has been out for awhile now. I was wondering how many of you are actually riding it strapless?  Any comments about this mode compared to the mutant setup with straps?

I just bought a Mako King and can’t wait to try it.  Been riding a Mako 150 wide for a couple of years and really enjoy it.

Anyone have an video’s of riding the King strapless?

The mako isn’t really the board I’d go to for strapless wave riding.  Can’t beat a surfboard for that.  I have a king and feel it’s best used in powered (strapped) slash and smash small/ mushy wave conditions. You need to ride it with power in the kite for the king to really come alive.  It works really well in those conditions and, coming from mostly strapless wave riding, I was surprised how much fun I had with it.

The board has a pretty flat outline to find if it drifts too far away if there are no straps or handle. I think I will play some more in mutant and twin tip mode and then try strapless when the water warms up around here in the Baltic and North Sea.

i rode the ‘09 king with the deckpad strapless a couple of times this fall.  it was such a cool feeling…very playful.  i doubt it’ll replace a surfboard but it was really fun to try.

Finally got to try my ‘new to me’ Mako King.  Really a fun board.  Look forward to trying different set-ups.
