I may be spending a week and a half or so in San Diego starting next week. Should I bring my gear? My big kite is a 12m, and I’ll probably just bring a twintip to avoid airfare costs. I have flexibility and could go north to LA or wherever.

So anyone who is local out there, let me know if it’s worth bring my gear or if I should just bring my snowboard and go to Big Bear.

I would suggest you bringing your gear instead of going elsewere.It is actually worth it.
