i need to replace my footpads and straps.  i ride an older version 150 x 34 mako.  i ended up putting on some LF luxury pads for the last few years but had to cut the toe end of the pad off to fit the board. Anyway its time to replace the pads, will the current OR foot pads fit the old mako?

I put bliss pads and kept the original straps and it works just fine for a smooth cushion ride.  The pads are just short of the width.

What year is that Mako that you have in the picture? Is it a 2005 or 2006? It looks in good condition. If it is a wood core, I am sure that Sunrise wants to buy it.

Our pads work with all of our boards, going all the way back to that there 2005 Mako! That was almost the original Mako, there was a very limited run of “Blue Shark” Makos done in late 2003 which we used to gauge the response to the possible board design, this was the 1st year of it’s true inception. . .

I had not used the board for a while so I took it out last week in some chop.  Great board!  Like a hot knife thru butter.  I ran across this picture - was it made in 2010?  I noticed this year the smaller Makos but no long skinny one.

Adrian,

You are in possession of a rare and coveted item there. The 150x34 original `skinny`Mako was discontinued after the 2008 model year. Take good care of it smile

Yeah, Sunrise tells me that the original first production run had a flatter rocker than the later models and a special feel to them. I have a 2006 blue shark model that I love to ride in solid wind above 16 knots.

dudes, why not re-issue the skinny Mako? Make it less rocker… you can get used to the occasional pearling.

You can design board foot pad according to your desire then you can get complete control on surfing. Foot pad design and its style have direct effect on your performance. So i suggest you to get proper board which suitable for your weight and length.
