(wazzaah, I slightly moderated the title from “a bit sad” to what it is now. For those unaware of what brother Wazzaah is sad and dippy about: he was hoping for a nice and officially prepared introduction of the 2012 smashing gear line-up, when he found someone in NL (where else?) had coincidentally discovered the “dealers eyes only” 2012 gear PDF on the internet, and posted images on a Dutch forum.

Yeah I was wondering how long it would take for someone to find the whole 2012 lineup. I was searching for something on the ‘11 Razor the other day and wrote in 2012 by accident and all of the kites came up on a PDF.
mmm yeah that was a bit of a google underestimate for JZ . Some smart guy on a Dutch forum was harmlessly googling for some info and found the whole shobang. And posted right away.
This was supossed to not leak until a couple of weeks from now. I’m expecting a bit more official announcement by the OR officials…
But those PHAT wingtips… FST! I’m told it rocks. Anyone from the Sherman Island demo can confirm this, there should have been some prototypes around?
As far as I have understood the Cypher is an entry level kite with great park (kickers & slides if I name it correctly) properties. So likely to be targeted at unhooked riders, but as such suitable for new riders with stable and easy handling, not as turbo charged as the venturi kites.
Rise and Razor are more advanced, no venturi on the Cypher. All my info is incomplete and premature, let’s wait for John and Evan to kick in!
I am ‘the someone’ Rudo is referring to in wazzaah’s first post and I am sorry, but, honestly, all I did was google Ocean Rodeo 2012 and the complete PDF came up.

Very cool new gear. I am dying to see what this stuff does. .........and some posts a couple of months ago said Ross had spent most of the R&D time on the 2012’s refining slight tweaks and SURFING. HAH!! The “intrigue” these OR guys are able to spin!
I’m thinking the leak could be a pretty smooth way to ‘release’ the information about the new line…..

saw this a couple of weeks back courtesy of Z. i’ve taken the plunge ordered a 10 razor already. i REALLY hope its going to be as sexy to fly as it looks.. is it just me or it the 2012 a LOT more c shaped a la north vegas, thruster etc.

Well, joke maybe but you hit the nail right on the head! It’s commonly believed that designers look at the market and then “borrow” the ideas they like, yet in the real world (good) designers are busy conceiving what will hit the market several years later!
