hey all! Due to University work/it being really damn cold/hitting a bit of a plateau last autumn i’ve not been riding much at all, or repping the internet…
got called out of retirement as it were this weekend for the SKA (student kitesurfing association) wave jam… double overhead, 10 sec period….....and 43kts.
thankfully the ever helpful Richard (Sunrise) lent me a 6m razor and a king and I managed to get to the final. sadly I managed to leave my lines on the shore as waves were piling in so i found my lines were made of spaghetti just as they called the finalists- so had to borrow someone’s 9, which was…....fun?
might have done better if I’d been on the right kit, but at least I proved the mako king can hold the power down! those bottom turns are insane!
anyone UK based should definately check out the SKA events, it’s a great vibe and the standards good.
