Just got a preditor and was wondering if anyone knows what sunscreens are safe on OR latex blend and what will break them down.

Sunscreen and latex seals,...its a great question, and one that the dry suit industry has not really addressed.

DEET mixed into sunscreen. (insect repellent) is really tough on the latex so avoid this mix if possible.
Ideally you want to avoid oil based products when wearing latex seals. After using any sunscreen, rinsing your seals in fresh water after each use will help.
I’m not sure if there’s any oil free suncreen on the market thats waterproof.

I wear the 2010 and 2009 pyro pro dry suits…I were the protec two face helmut, it has a little visor, this helmet not only protects the noggin,but also is good for sun protection…..all I use on my face is ” California Baby Sunblock stick-unscented ” it is one of the top recommended products of the enviromental working group. its active ingredient is 18 percent titanium dioxide, the other ingrediends are mostly carnuba wax and coconut oil. I just do the nose and cheeks and lips.

The only part of my body that is visible is my nose so I guess the question is mostly academic.  Havn’t realy tried it in the water yet.  Water is finaly warm enough to go short 3mm or less.  Right after a west wind it dives back to around 50.  Tried it on in the shower.    It breaths nice and it’s flexi like a nice 3mm.
