Looks like the design team has been working hard to improve the Rise with the introduction of the XPD and new bar.
Seems many kite companies introducing delta-shaped designs, particularly Eric Hersten in Cabarete with the Ovando.
Just curious if OR has plans or working on a delta kite?

please don’t start with delta shape’s, i saw the 11m2 ovando this weekend in low wind conditions but it still needs wind just like all the other kites.
same lowend as a 12 rise.

Just tweak and improve.

Wasn’t there talk of the ONE making a come back Ben? Not sure how it would fit alongside the RISE which just seems to do everything.

Anybody tried a delta shape lately?.. Me, I haven’t… Like my Rises 8 and 10 too much. Sure it’s fashion on many waters lately but so were C shapes and SLE’s. So why not let OR experiment with things (kite- board- and barshapes) It’s their duty and obligation to bring out the best gear possible each year. If OR think they can make the best D-shape kite on the market why not let them? The 2011 XP Delta with venturi system and Sigma shaped bar would be awesome. I’d like mine 10.3 and 7.3 m2, orange with black dots like a ladybug.
IMO don,t shoot the baby before it’s even born guy’s..

I’ve had plenty of time on some early delta’s and they rock in 10m and under.  A 9m delta pulls like a 12m C kite or a 10m rise.  Plenty of merit to the design.  Punchy and fast with lots of stability.  Nice unhooked too.

When I was in Cabarete last month, I was very impressed with Hertsen’s Ovando.  Had a long discussion with him on
the beach re kite designs and designers.  He spoke highly of Ocean Rodeo and liked what they were doing in the sport.
(unlike many other kite companies that i won’t mention). I really think he has come up with an innovative new design and expect good things with that kite.  Just curious if OR was considering a delta….. Still would have a difficult time believing
anything could beat a Rise!!

ok ok!

I suppose its my personal beef with kite brands having 5 different types of kite out at one time that I cannot stand!

Pick two, make them work very well and get on with it!

Now boards are a whole different kettle of fish!

board choice is easily as important as the kite. i think people forget that.
