I currently have two 2007 RISE kites (12m & 16m)
Both have OEM 2008 bridle upgrades.
A 2008 4m RISE is on the way, as well.

I have printed-out page 14 of the (2007?) SLE kite manual (RISE settings)
and compared it to the (2009?) RISE settings found on the latest revision of the OR website -
CLICK HERE to go to RISE section
(then click on ‘DESIGN SPECS’ along the bottom edge to see the ‘interactive’ RISE settings.)
Upon comparison, it appears that -
RISE setting #1 (from manual) became setting #3 (on the website)
RISE setting #2 (from manual) remains setting #2 (on the website)
RISE setting #3 (from manual) became setting #1 (on the website)
RISE setting #4 (from manual) remains setting #4 (on the website)
Here is a convenient reference for the previous and current descriptions for each RISE setting -
SETTING #1 / (NOW SETTING # 3)
FACTORY SETTING / SCHOOL SETTING
MORE BAR PRESSURE / HIGHER BAR PRESSURE FOR KITE FEEDBACK
MORE DEPOWER / MAXIMUM DEPOWER
SLOWEST TURNING
SETTING #2 / (STILL SETTING # 2)
LESS BAR PRESSURE / PERFECT BAR PRESSURE
LESS DEPOWER / SLOWER TURNING
SETTING #3 / (NOW SETTING #1)
LESS BAR PRESSURE / PERFECT BAR PRESSURE
FASTER TURNING / MAXIMUM TURNING SPEED
MORE LIKELY TO STALL / FACTORY SETTING
SETTING #4 / (STILL SETTING #4)
HARDEST TO FLY / MAXIMUM TURNING SPEEDS TO STAVE OFF THE COMPETITION
MORE DEPOWER / MAXIMUM DEPOWER TO GET YOU WINDWARD THE FASTEST
PRONE TO STALLING
After acknowledging that setting #1 & #3 have switched places,
along with the improvements provided by the 2008 bridle and Venturi feature…
is it safe to assume that all the previous setting descriptions above remain
‘generally true’ for the RISE from 2007-2009?
If this is not the case, what RISE settings/descriptions are most appropriate when referring to -
- a 2007 RISE with 2007 bridle
- a 2007 RISE with 2008 bridle
- a 2008 RISE with 2008 bridle
- a 2009 RISE with latest (2008?) bridle

On a related note…
I have one the RISE kites with the ‘extra’ pigtail attachment point (my 2007 16m).
for a total of 5 attachment points on each side of the kite.
...the extra connection you have is not to be used. At one point we toyed with the idea
of an interconnection between the extension/pigtail coming off the wingtip and this point,
but later did away with the concept.
Which pigtail attachment point is the one I should disregard/not use?
The 3rd one? (when starting from the wing tip, that is)
.
Much thanks in advance
