The other day i was out on my 8m 08 rise and a zen 135x43 for almost 4 hours i was perfectly powered on it as others where on kites from 9m to 11m.
I’m 200 lbs with out all of the gear.
The rise was set on factory ( first on the front and first on the back - meaning the first to the front not the tail end for the rear mount). The rise 8m has a lot of grunt for its size - i was jumping etc etc , a fellow kiter and i had been doing speed runs on his c kite 08 torch?)in the shallows of BBay - fricken fun.
Anyway a fellow kiter wanted to try the rise i let him have her and i took his sigma cult? - well i could barely get going on the 9m sigma (and this is just after i was out on the rise) the very first thing i noticed is that the kite didnt turn near as fast as the rise =- i tomahawked into the water unintentionally - sorry, anyway after some serous signing i was up but going down wind so i made 2 tacks and called it quits. I felt it had no where near the same bottom end as the rise. I waited for my rise to come back and the rider was saying that the rise was a fast kite and he (avid Naish fan) said he liked it “it was a very nice kite”. Upon landing the kite i noticed it was half deflated - i guess when i missed my landing and crashed the kite the deflate valve was partly dislodge prior to lending it out. Any way i said to him imagine what the kite would be like if it was inflated and on the faster setting—- he was surprised and thought it was on the fastest settings….......
